If you’re ever near Stamford, Connecticut and craving a sweet indulgence, Elm Street Diner should be on your radar. This spot has become somewhat of a legend thanks to its wildly over-the-top milkshakes and creative comfort food. For months, my husband and son had their hearts set on visiting this place—and after recovering from surgery, I was finally able to join them. Let me tell you: it was worth every second of anticipation.

The diner itself is bright, modern, and full of charm. Despite visiting on a Thursday morning, the place was already bustling—proof of its popularity. Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait, though I’ve heard weekends can draw lines over an hour long! Inside, there’s a dedicated milkshake-making area and a mouthwatering display of homemade donuts, cupcakes, and full-size cakes that feel like edible artwork.

Their food menu is enormous—pages of brunch classics and fun twists. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash Benedict, my husband went for the Stacked Brunch Burrito, and our son indulged in the Nutella Oreo French Toast. The French toast and my Benedict were absolutely 10/10; my husband rated his burrito a solid 7/10.

And then came the real showstopper: the milkshakes. We picked the Elm Street Cake Shake in Cinnamon Toast Crunch flavor. It came topped with a slice of cake, whipped cream, and a mountain of sweet cereal. Was it over-the-top? Yes. Was it delicious? Also yes. We gave it an 8/10—partly for taste and partly because it looked like something straight off Instagram.

The staff was super friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. This place is more than just a diner—it’s an experience. We’re already talking about going back… maybe next time with friends in tow. If you love unique food spots, check out this amazing bakery for more tasty desserts!

Until next time, Elm Street Diner!
